Course description

The Smith+Nephew Advanced Healing Course is co-organised with the Alps Surgery Institute (Dr. Laurent Lafosse and Dr. Thibault Lafosse), in Annecy – France, to give delegates the opportunity to access the best education in shoulder surgery.

The course is focused on Rotator Cuff repair and on the Advanced Healing solutions: REGENETEN™, HEALICOIL™ and REGENESORB™. The other main focus is instability repair and advanced stabilisation techniques such as Arthroscopic Latarjet or Bone Block.

With lectures, live case discussions, live surgery and sawbones workshops, delegates will learn, practice techniques and enhance their knowledge for complex shoulder pathologies.

Course Information

Learning objectives
• Describe and perform partial and full thickness repair with ADVANCED HEALING Portfolio
• Select the right technique for the right patient in rotator cuff and instability repair surgery by integrating optimal treatment algorithms
• Identify potential technical challenges and demonstrate skills to overcome them
• Outline and apply all steps of a complex arthroscopic latarjet or bone block procedure

Participant profile
• Orthopaedic Surgeon with 5+ years experience in shoulder arthroscopy and who is currently performing 60+ rotator cuff repairs and 30+ shoulder instability repairs annually
• Strong interest and experience in shoulder repair, with a desire to develop skills in the arthroscopic approach of rotator cuff and instability repairs
• Must have an advanced level of English language skills
